Before You Start

The Gulf Coast State College Foundation’s Blackbaud Award Management (formerly AcademicWorks) scholarship program is the “home” for scholarship  information. Every scholarship applicant will have their own individual account inside BAM.  The BAM scholarship program is where a student applies for a scholarship, monitors the progress of an application or applications, or notes whether a scholarship has been offered or not.

The BAM program is housed and hosted by the Foundation and is not a Gulf Coast State College program; however, to be able to use BAM an applicant must go through the Gulf Coast State College website at

It is important that all applicants treat BAM as their scholarship “home” while they are attending Gulf Coast State College.

GCSC Email Set Up

It is important that everyone using BAM has an active Gulf Coast State College email account (  Why?  First, the login to BAM will use the first part of a user’s GCSC email address (i.e. everything before the @ sign). For example if a user has the email address – [email protected], then the login will be jsmith15

Second, the Foundation will send out notifications using an applicant’s GCSC email address. This includes all offers and award notifications.  Very seldom will the Foundation use a personal email address (gmail, yahoo, aol) for communications purposes.

Blackbaud Award Management (formerly AcademicWorks) will not require a user to create a password; instead a user’s password is derived from one the following Gulf Coast State College sources: 1) GCSC Email; 2) mygcsc; or 3) Canvas.  The Foundation cannot “reset” or “look-up” a user’s password; however, is a “Trouble Signing In” link at the bottom left side of the box that may help. If you seek assistance on obtaining or changing your password, please contact the Gulf Coast State College IT Help Desk at (850) 913-3303.
